Scenic Float on the Snake River

Your Snake River tour begins with a drive out to the historic Snake River Ranch north of the town of Jackson.  This is a great launching point for Snake River rafting trips and is unique among outfitters in the area. Enjoy the peace and tranquility as you take time to relax as you float on this beautiful section of the Snake River. During this portion of the trip, you will float past the Gros Ventre River and have an opportunity to capture breathtaking views looking back into Jackson Hole valley.  There are numerous chances to spot abundant wildlife on your Snake River float trip.

  • Tour runs June 14 through August 20
  • 2:30 p.m. Float down the Snake River in Jackson Hole
  • 4:30 p.m.  Wildlife trip into Grand Teton National Park (4 hours)

Wildlife Hike in Grand Teton National Park

For the second half of this adventure, you put on your hiking shoes and begin exploring Grand Teton National Park with a wildlife biologist. Grand Teton National Park offers some of the best wildlife viewing in the United States. Along the way, you’ll learn about the history of the park and how these fabulous mountains were formed. If this is your first time visiting Jackson Hole, this is the hike you need to be on. Enjoy breathtaking scenery and wildlife viewing that will create memories of a lifetime for you, your family and friends.

Hiking in Jackson Hole

Grand Teton National Park offers a wide range of hikes including riverwalk’s, boulder scrambles, steady grade hikes or steep hikes that can take you deep into the mountains. Your guide will help match the skill level of your group with in making his choice of hiking route.

Jackson Hole Season to Season

Springtime: March through May – Temperatures during this time range from as low as 35° up to the mid 70s. The inner loop road in the national park opens on May 1st  after being closed for the winter. During this time of year, temperatures warm up during the day, but it is not unusual to have rain or receive snow showers now and again. The big challenge this time of year is snow on the trails.

Summer: June through August – Average daytime temperatures during summer range between 70° and 85°,  however mornings and evenings can be substantially cooler. While in Jackson Hole, it’s always important to wear several layers of clothing that can removed or added at a moment’s notice. It’s not unusual to receive showers and even thunder showers during the summer. Many of the trail areas are exposed and require having proper hydration and sunscreen.

Fall: September to early November – Average temperatures  in the fall range from 45° to 75°, with mornings and evenings being substantially cooler. It is not unusual to have a snowstorm this time of year so be prepared with extra layers for warmth.

Winter: mid November to early March – This tour is not offered during the winter season.

Whitewater rafting in Jackson Hole can get very busy in the summer months. If you plan a Jackson Hole float trip, book early or you may well miss out. Snake River rafting in Jackson Hole is a once in a lifetime experience and will provide you with life long memories.
